LCR RECORDS (LCR) was created in 2000 by entertainment and, business entrepreneur Richard Carpenter and vocalist, songwriter Luz Rios. The vision was to create an independent label that would promote the recordings of Luz Rios' songs. Ultimately with the goal of being able to develop up and coming artists in the Latin and World Music Community.

In 2008, LCR joined forces with Selecto-O-Hits. A Power House Independent Distributor headed by President, industry veteran Johnny Phillips and Director of Sales JC Gonzalez. Selecto is one of the largest independent distributors in the United States. And in 2009,  LCR's  album  "Aire" distributed by Select-O-Latino a division of Select-O-Hits was nominated for a Latin GRAMMY for best female pop album along with a GRAMMY nomination for Luz Rios as "Best New Artist".

In 2010 LCR formed an alliance with Jeff Young of the Venetian Marketing Group (VMG). Jeff has served as President and Executive Vice President Capitol / EMI Latin, Sony, Universal and Univision Music Companies. Included in this alliance is Tony Birrell Director of Sales for "VMG", AL Zamora of "Latin Hits Entertainment" and veteran and highly successful publicists Diana Alvarez and Albita Egan of "Leage of Their Own" (LOTO). Also Included is Ana Maria Gomez of AMG. Publicist for the Los Angeles Market Region and Angel Ilarraza PR and Promotions in Puerto Rico. Terry J. Coniglio, Esq. is legal counsel to LCR. In 2011 Isandra Gonzalez of 22 Entertainment a leading publicisit in Los Angeles joined forces to promote Luz Rios.

The music publishing divisions of LCR Records are LCR Records Music and Publishing (BMI) and Latin Countries Records Publishing (ASCAP). These entities are managed by Costas Gus Christ (Director of Music Production and Operations for LCR).

Over the years LCR has become one of the most successful independent labels in Latin Music with songs charting on Mediabase, BDS and Billboard. Aggressively  competing with the remaining major labels in the industry.
